BIR to probe tax payments of Janet Lim-Napoles

MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Internal Revenue will also conduct its own investigation on Janet Lim-Napoles, the alleged mastermind of the pork barrel scam.
Napoles is the owner of the JLN Group of Companies.
BIR Commissoner Kim Henares said the investigation will focus on Napoles' income tax returns.
Henares added the agency will also look into the foundations and non-government organizations connected with Napoles' company.
"I want to assure everyone that the BIR reads newspapers and listens to news broadcast, and if there is anything that needs investigation, rest assured we already started it," she said.
